HSHS St. Francis Hospital

Car accidents cause one in four unintentional deaths to children under 13 in the United States. Many of these deaths are preventable. Placing children in age and size appropriate car and booster seats can reduce serious and fatal injuries.

The Illinois Telehealth Network (ITN) recently established its first board of directors. Adding this structure to the organization will give ITN a greater capacity to help members better deploy telemedicine applications to meet their needs. ITN is an independent organization; Hospital Sisters Health System (HSHS) played an integral role in launching the network.

HSHS St. Francis Hospital Auxiliary is showcasing some beautiful Litchfield homes later this month as part of a fundraiser to benefit a scholarship program for students pursuing degrees in the healthcare field.

As the new school year begins and student athletes spend much of their time practicing to play games and compete, HSHS St. Francis Hospital encourages athletes and parents to exercise caution in order to avoid sports-related injuries. 

Cancer affects more than one thousand people in Montgomery County and many more in the surrounding communities who must travel to receive the care they need—often being away from their home for eight hours or more. In response to an identified community need, HSHS St. Francis Hospital is opening a cancer care center to provide patients with oncology treatment close to home. It will be located on the fourth floor of the hospital.

Take Charge of Your Diabetes is a six-week workshop for people with diabetes, pre-diabetes and caretakers. The program will be held on Tuesdays from Sept. 13 to Oct. 18 at HSHS St. Francis Hospital.
