HSHS St. Francis Hospital


HSHS St. Francis Hospital officials announced that $140,000 was raised at the Robinson Brothers Homecoming Concert II on Saturday, October 5, 2019.  The HSHS St. Francis Foundation hosted the event where the theme was Our Hearts Have Always Been in Litchfield. Robby and Rex Robinson are originally from Litchfield and graduated from Litchfield High School.

Tata Vega will join Robby and Rex at the Robinson Brothers Concert II on October 5. Due to a conflict, Alita Allen cannot attend the event and Tata will join us during the evening. Oscar & Grammy winner, TATA VEGA is one of the great voices in Gospel music.

The next series of mind-body health classes at HSHS St. Francis Hospital begin in September. The mind-body health classes are held Mondays throughout the year.  Upcoming Classes and Events include: Healthy Steps: Moving You to Greater Health; Everyday Addictions; and Reducing Stress with Mindfulness. Baby-Friendly USA, recently announced that HSHS St. Francis Hospital has received prestigious international recognition as a Designated Baby-Friendly birth facility.


The summer months provide plenty of opportunities for children to head to their local neighborhood playground. While HSHS St. Francis Hospital certainly encourages children to engage in physical activity, parents should take caution when their children play on playground equipment during the heat of summer.

This week, HSHS St. Francis Hospital, an Illinois critical access hospital, was awarded a $200,000 federal grant to fund a one-year project that creates the Heroin Opioid Prevention Education (HOPE) Telehealth Consortium. This funding is provided for planning to support treatment for and prevention of Substance Use Disorder (SUD) and Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) in several rural Illinois communities. The grant is provided by the Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA) Rural Communities Opioid Response Program-Planning Program. The federal grant will be matched by $20,000 from the Hospital Sisters of St. Francis Foundation.
