    This week, HSHS St. Francis Hospital, an Illinois critical access hospital, was awarded a $200,000 federal grant to fund a one-year project that creates the Heroin Opioid Prevention Education (HOPE) Telehealth Consortium. This funding is provided for planning to support treatment for and prevention of Substance Use Disorder (SUD) and Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) in several rural Illinois communities. The grant is provided by the Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA) Rural Communities Opioid Response Program-Planning Program. The federal grant will be matched by $20,000 from the Hospital Sisters of St. Francis Foundation.

    HSHS St. Francis Hospital is offering an online stop smoking class through Bridget Rolens, mind-body health services educator at HSHS St. Francis Hospital. The online classes will be held every Monday, July 8, through Aug. 12 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Registration deadline is Friday, July 5, and the suggested donation is $60.
